At East High, fostering creativity and strengthening connections go hand in hand. In October, we transformed our workspace into a lively and aromatic hub of coffee exploration with a Coffee Salon. The event was designed to bring our team together in a fun and engaging way while diving into the fascinating world of coffee.
To make the experience truly special, we invited a professional barista whose passion for coffee was both inspiring and contagious. The event featured a series of interactive and educational activities:
Discovering Coffee Origins: Our barista guided us through the journey of coffee from bean to cup, explaining the distinct characteristics of beans from various regions and how cultivation affects flavor.
Taste Like a Pro: Team members engaged in a coffee-tasting session, learning how to identify subtle notes, aromas, and textures in different brews. From fruity and floral to nutty and bold, every sip was a revelation.
Blend It Your Way: Participants experimented with blending their favorite coffee beans, creating unique flavors tailored to their taste.
Mastering Latte Art: The highlight of the day was the latte art workshop, where everyone tried their hand at creating heart, tulip, and rosette designs. There was plenty of laughter and some surprisingly impressive results!
The Coffee Salon wasn’t just about coffee—it was about connection. The event fostered conversations, sparked creativity, and reminded us all of the importance of coming together outside of our daily routines.
Feedback from the Team
The response to the event was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed how much they enjoyed the opportunity to learn something new and participate in a hands-on activity. It also created a relaxed environment for team members to bond and share their creativity.
